GMCA/IMS Brogan Collaborative Consulting Engagement

The GMCA/IMS Brogan partnership is preparing to run its second collaborative consulting initiative and is seeking highly talented, knowledgeable and motivated individuals with strong credentials in research, academic writing and knowledge translation. Selected participants will gain valuable consulting experience and exposure to collaborative projects involving due diligence, data mining and research studies, while working with pharmaceutical market data and consulting leader IMS Brogan.

The consulting engagement will last for a duration of 5 months, and will encompass a time commitment of 5-10 hours per week. As such, the candidate selection process will aim to identify self-motivated individuals with genuine talent, capacity to learn independently, excellent work ethic, time management skills, as well as possess strong proficiency in analyzing scientific and medical information. Interested candidates must apply as a team of 3-5 members through submission of individual resumes and cover letters and a statement (1-2 paragraphs) on why your team would be the ideal team to participate in this engagement. At least one member of a 3 person team or two members of a 4-5 person team need to have in-depth experience with R and related statistical analytical tools.

Please submit your application as 1 PDF document to before 11:59pm May 6th, 2016

Unfortunately, because of the volume of applications we expect to receive, only those that are invited for an interview will be contacted.

Interview Schedule:
1st Round Interview: Monday, May 16th, 6-9 pm
2nd Round Interview with Prepared Presentation: Friday, May 20th, at IMS office

Good luck with your application!

“ The IMS Brogan summer consulting engagement (2015) is an excellent way to gain first-hand experience in Health Care Consulting. We had direct exposure to senior consulting staff and worked closely with members of a multi-functional team. Given the opportunity to work with a unique set of proprietary data, we investigated and answered pertinent questions in a hot area of health care today. This was a challenging and invaluable consulting experience that also led to two successful conference publications, and happily my current position as Consultant at IMS.”  — Sheri Shojaie

2016 GMCA Strategic Management Consulting Conference

The GMCA Strategic Management Consulting Conference is back! This year, the GMCA is hosting the annual conference from Thursday May 5th to Friday May 13th. This year, we will be hosting workshops from May 5-6th and the case competition from May 7-13th. Even if you’ve attended this conference before, this year we will present new workshops, exciting networking opportunities and, as always, the case competition with management consulting judges from top firms.

Workshop tickets will be sold until May 1st, 11:59 pm. This ticket is for all individuals who would like to learn more about consulting, participate in a less-formal networking night and get a sense for what it takes to get into consulting without participating in the case competition. You will get insider information from management consultants from top firms and get opportunities to network. Space is limited. Get your ticket here today! (See Conference Schedule)

Case competition:

Case Competition application deadline is April 24th, 11:59 pm. The case competition is a great opportunity to get noticed and make connections with consulting industry professionals. The competition will have teams of 5. As before, only one professional / MBA / Undergrad is allowed per team. Four team mates must be graduate students, MD/JD candidates or post docs.

We accept applications from teams with less than 5 members, including single-member applications. Once selected to compete, teams with less than 5 members will be randomly grouped into teams of five.

Space is limited, so make sure to apply by the deadline by sending the GMCA Team Application form and attaching all team member resumes in 1 PDF to

NOTE: Applications that do not follow the above guidelines will NOT be considered.

If your team is selected for case competition, a separate link to purchase an invite-only case competition ticket will be sent out to each individual on the team. The ticket costs $30 per person and gives you access to coaching, the case competition, and an exclusive networking event on May 13th. Teams will be notified if they’re accepted by May 1st. This year’s case will be released on Saturday, May 7th. There will be a Coach’s Corner session on Monday, May 9th.
