2016 Beginner Case Competition

The Graduate Management Consulting Association (GMCA) is proudly hosting its 4th Annual Beginner Case Competition from Monday Nov. 21st to Friday Nov. 25th. This weeklong competition is strictly for beginners with no prior consulting or case competition experience.

 

SCHEDULE:

Nov. 21st – 25th, 2016, U of T: St. George Campus

Monday at noon: Case released

Monday evening: Introduction to the case competition and Q&A session

Tuesday evening: Coach’s corner (receive guidance on your case approach)

Friday evening: Case competition, followed by a networking event

 

APPLICATION:

To take place in the beginner case competition, it is compulsory that each participant have no prior consulting or case competition experience. Participants must be current graduate students and/or post-doctoral fellows at a Canadian university. A maximum of one (1) current undergraduate, MBA student or graduate alumnus per team is allowed.

 

If you are interested, please apply as a team of four (4) by submitting one-page resumes for all team members and filling out the 2016 Beginner Case Competition Application before the deadline of Sunday Nov. 13th, 11:59pm.

 

Individual applicants will be placed on a waiting list until additional space becomes available. We highly encourage lone applicants to form a team of 4 through channels like the GMCA Member Forum: Teammates Finder Group.

 

Selected teams will be notified by email on Wednesday, Nov. 16th. This email will also provide more specific details about the competition schedule (i.e. room location, time). You will also receive a ticket payment invitation of $40 per team payable prior to the competition.
