GMCA Canada – Executive Chapter | Recruitment for 2020-2021 | Deadline: Apr. 30, 2020

We hope you and your families are safe and well. We are continuously monitoring the situation with COVID-19 and have decided to spend the next month supporting students remotely. This would also mean we are preparing ourselves to complete our executive transition process online.

We are seeking enthusiastic and industrious students to fill specific executive positions at the University of Toronto – GMCA Canada Executive Chapter. For other information regarding the roles, please download the GMCA 2020-2021 Executive Committee Recruitment package. To apply, please submit your application below by 11:59 PM on Thursday, April 30, 2020. Selected candidates will be invited for interviews via email between May 1-10, 2020. Interviews will be held between May 11-18, 2020. More details will be announced regarding logistics closer to the interview date.

Please see below for the positions available and their associated responsibilities:

Professional Relations

  • Manage and expand relationships between GMCA and management consultancies
  • Build an in-person rapport with firm representatives at events
  • Maintain the GMCA database of consultancy contacts
  • Support the development of the annual consultancy sponsorship package
  • Aid in organizing all workshops, information sessions, and training events involving consultancy contacts
  • Director of Professional Relations (expectation for time commitment: 8-10 hours/week)
  • Associate of Professional Relations (expectation for time commitment: 4-6 hours/week)

Professional Development

  • Update the curriculum, manage/expand relationships with speakers for the Business Fundamentals Lectureship Series
  • Select and/or develop business cases for GMCA events that are acceptable to industry
  • Create briefs to circulate to judges and participants for case competitions
  • Oversee the selection of members to events including resume screening
  • Manage the internal resource library of the GMCA
  • Director of Professional Development (expectation for time commitment: 8-10 hours/week)
  • Associate of Professional Development (expectation for time commitment: 4-6 hours/week)

Marketing & Communications

  • Design the strategy, develop, and adapt marketing content and website advertisements for each specific social media platform
  • Collect information on membership, especially event applicants and registrants to inform strategy
  • Manage and direct GMCA’s brand as well as internal and external communication, principally as the face of the GMCA Executive Council with its membership
  • Liaise with other GMCA chapters across Canada
  • Coordinate emailing membership with information and promotions for upcoming events, responding to membership email inquiries within 48 hours
  • Expand and establish community outreach efforts
  • Director of Marketing & Communications (expectation for time commitment: 8-10 hours/week)
  • Associate of Marketing & Communications (expectation for time commitment: 4-6 hours/week)
