Lectures will be taught by industry professionals from diverse backgrounds and cover concepts from the popular “The Ten-Day MBA” book by Steven Silbiger. This year, the curriculum of our Business Fundamentals program will cover the below topics and conclude with a case competition in the last day of the course.
1. Case AnalysisAt the end of the course, students will have the opportunity to participate in a case competition, which will be judged by a panel of consultants.
Please note, this is an immensely popular offering, and our waitlists are usually full. If you cannot attend 9/10 of the lectures, please consider taking the class the next time that it is offered. Business Fundamentals: Online Course
If you’re a graduate student or post-doctoral fellow interested in participating in our GMCA: Business Fundamentals online course, apply by December 18th, 2020 (11:59 PM)! Successful applicants will be notified through email by Saturday, January 2nd, 2020.
Each class is composed of the following:
Case Competition: Combating the COVID-19 Crisis
Participating teams will receive the case on March 17th (12:01 AM). Combating the COVID-19 Crisis will take place on March 26th (6:30 PM – 9:30 PM). The competition will consist of two rounds: a preliminary and final round. Each team will give a 10-minute presentation of their recommended solution to a panel of judges from our partnering consulting firms. Presentations will be followed by a 10-minute Q&A period. This year we will be awarding $1000+ in monetary prizes!
The deadline to register your your team is Wednesday, March 3rd, 2021 at 11:59 PM. Individuals without a team will be sorted in groups on Wednesday, March 10th, 2021.
Note that registration for this case competition is mandatory for all Business Fundamentals participants and the registration fee was already included in the program fees.
Eligibility Criteria
Teams must be composed of three (3) – four (4) members. A maximum of ONE (1) current undergraduate, MBA student, graduate alumnus, or individual not registered in the course and a maximum of TWO (2) teammates with 2+ years of industry experience per team is allowed. If you don’t have a complete team, be sure to reach out to trainees in the #gmca_business-fundamentals_2021 channel.
